COVID-19 – Bankruptcy Court General Orders
Court Hearing Notice
The Bankruptcy Court is continuing to conduct hearings but only by video and audio connections. No one is allowed in the court house and all hearings will be by video and audio only for all persons. If you are to attend a hearing, you should be prepared to attend by video as well as audio. The court uses Join.Me for video and audio connections. You may use your cell phone for the video connection. You will be on screen for the Judge to see you while speaking.
ORDER ADOPTING HEARING PROTOCOLS THAT MAY BE IMPLEMENTED UNDER CERTAIN PUBLIC HEALTH OR SAFETY CONDITIONS
The Court is aware of public concern about a potential outbreak of the Coronavirus. Although no
public health emergency has been declared, the Court has determined that the adoption of a protocol for
public health emergencies that impact court operations is appropriate. By adopting a protocol in advance
of an emergency, parties-in-interest may be better able to comply with exigencies that may arise.
ORDER FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ALTERNATIVE PROCEDURES FOR CONDUCTING CHAPTER 13 PANEL HEARINGS
In its continuing effort to address public concern about the Coronavirus and protect all parties that
appear before it, the Court implements, effective immediately, the following procedures to be used in all
chapter 13 panel hearings between the date of this Order and April 30,2020.
ORDER FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ALTERNATIVE PROCEDURES FOR CONDUCTING CREDITOR MEETINGS UNDER 11 U,S,c. § 341
As part of the ongoing effort to address public concern about the Coronavirus and to protect
all parties that appear in bankruptcy cases, the Office of the United States Trustee for the Southern
District of Texas and the Court have been in constant communication regarding the needs of
litigants in the District as well as statutory requirements.
