Foreclosure Tuesday in Texas on January 1

Texas real estate foreclosure sales
Real estate foreclosure sales in Texas only occur on the first Tuesday of each month. There is no other day that real estate can be foreclosed in Texas. For 2013, New Years Day, or January 1, is the first Tuesday of January. Even though this is a national and state holiday, real estate foreclosure sales will still occur in Texas on January 1, or New Year’s Day.
Don’t be caught unprepared. If you received a notice of a trustee’s sale for your home or other property for Tuesday, January 1, 2013, and are thinking that no foreclosure will occur on New Year’s Day, you are wrong. The foreclosure sales will still occur on the courthouse steps (even though the courthouses are not open) throughout Texas.
Act now if you have received a foreclosure notice for January 1, 2013. Don’t wait with the expectation that a mistake was made since January 1 is a holiday. Chapter 13 bankruptcy is one way to stop a foreclosure sale. Our firm has other possible solutions, but for January 1, 2013, you need to act soon.
